The first time i ever travelled to Japan, many years ago, i was fascinated by the sights, smells and lights of the country by the choice of gadgets and other hi-tech devices available in dedicated shops so large that they may desserve a whole travel just for them.

Butalso by things of unsignificant simplicity as we will see today:

powerstrips!

in my place and maybe yours, the choice sums up to slight variations on this:

boring ramp, sometimes with a switch, extreme luxury in supermarket alleys…

But in Japan, any house or even hotel room, any minimarket contains one of those:

Individual switches! it’s so simple, but then hy isn’t it any common around me? why isn’t this even the norm, as it seems to be on the other side of the world?

Did no one ever thought of such tiny detail that make life simpler?

Unfortunately, despite a part of my stuff coming directly from asia, another part uses good old round french plugs , so logically, i regretted not being able to make use of those, that only are restricted to 110v countries mostly

But this was before !
Before i went to Thailand, where you may or may not know about this, but both plug types coexist blades ones as in Japan or USA etc, and round ones such as in France and most of europe.

One good effect of this is finding mixed plugs in most walls, and therefore also….

NOW THAT is interestin, for a few hundred Bahts (Thai currency) it is possible to get out of any supermarket with a powerstrip that has individual switches AND international plugs! ô joy !

>WARNING<< We are not talking about voltage conversion here,but only about accepting several different power plugs, so do make sure that your hardware supports the voltage you intend to provide it.
